Time goes by,
Phantoms have faded
How wrong am I,
How sadly mistaken.
Your shadows arrive,
Marked by words completely evaded…
My body repels,
At the sight and thought of your presence.
“Appreciate time” (I say)
For all has been evaded.
What once was an exertion to maintain;
Today is wisdom for the array and guidance to all awaken.
This unforgettable present.
I wrote this poem on November 10, 2019, at 10:33 pm; who would think that I would be editing this poem today….years later.
This is what life is all about. We evolve if we choose. I have always said that I write as a simple writer.
Everything takes time. I was in South Carolina a while ago, and I met this tree.
Although this is a beautiful tree, it’s incarcerated by its surroundings (in my personal opinion), just like relationships, friendships, illness, finances, past situations, lovers, etc.
This site gave me an impression of imprisonment. Just like being in a hospital room for days and not leaving at one's owns will. I said to myself.
"This reminds me of a dysfunctional relationship. “
You might disagree with me, but many trees grow in swamps, but this tree, in particular, sparked my interest. It has cement around it. No matter how tall it gets or how many roots it grows, it can never escape the cement that surrounds it.
We are not in a situation like this beautiful tree is in which it has been damned to be surrounded by this environment for its remaining existence even though its beauty is breathtaking...
We are human beings that have a choice and the right to live as we choose to. I have learned by many circumstances that some things are worth fighting for and waiting for.
Health, for example, is something that we have to wait for, and while we wait, we should take advantage of every second we have to build happy memories, learn something new, enjoy the free things in life. This is how I can overcome difficult moments. Let's be honest about who and how we are.
Lack of honesty only hinders our own self. Who are we when there is no one around us, and who are we are alone? Can we still look and be vibrant like this tree in the midst of trying times? or are we a facade in front of others and someone else when we are alone? ( I leave that for everyone to evaluate and think about!)
Breath in and close your eyes and listen to that beautiful heartbeat inside that keeps us alive, and take time to think of new ideas and keep trying.
I assure you that in TIME everything will work itself out. Just look back and reflect a moment of where you were last year or a few years ago, and you will see the light at the end of the tunnel. We have to be patient!
Put into the universe what you want
Plan and never give up
Remember your alive today
Today has much to offer
Be determined, resilient, and patient.
The simple writer
